![]() NOTE: package binaries for the following releases are no longer present on CRAN. If you wish to compile R packages from sources, you may need to download GNU Fortran 8.2 - see the tools directory. This release uses Xcode 12.4 and GNU Fortran 8.2. So these instructions are pretty confusing at the moment. Always re-install XQuartz when upgrading your macOS to a new major version. ![]() It also seems to imply that you can’t install the binary on Catalina, but I don’t think that’s true either. The update also improves the stability, reliability, and security of your Mac. ![]() So I’m not sure what it’s intending to say. macOS Catalina 10.15.5 introduces battery health management in the Energy Saver settings for notebooks, an option to control automatic prominence of video tiles on Group FaceTime calls, and controls to fine-tune the built-in calibration of your Pro Display XDR. This seems to say to only use the R toolchain installer for pre-Catalina but then the next sentence talks about opening it in Catalina. VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files as well as DVDs, Audio CDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. With this procedure I installed Windows 10 in my MacBook Pro and MacMini. If you have one, first you should delete it, then recover that space for your main macOS (Catalina, Mojave), then start BootCamp assistant. If you have Catalina, then you need to open it by pressing CTRL+right-click … To use BootCamp your hard disk must no have any partition. We recommend using the macOS R toolchain installer for pre-Catalina versions of the operating system, in which case you can then install the binary version of the RStan package. Then, on that page it also says the following, which seems to contradict itself: macOS Catalina, the latest version of the worlds most advanced desktop operating system, is now available as a free software update. The link on the Getting Started page for Mac - Configuring C++ Toolchain takes you to a page that says “Installing RStan from source on a Mac”, but I don’t think it’s just for installing from source, right? That title seems wrong, or am I wrong? Can you clarify this and update the RStan pages as necessary? I understand confusion here.
